B&A was hired to prepare planning documents for the expansion of Terminal F at PortMiami. The expansion is needed at Terminal F to improve passenger flow and increase floor area for larger cruise vessels. Work includes both demolition and new improvements; reconfiguration of the existing terminal and the construction of a new 33,000 SF embarkation building, new power plant and expansion of the ground transportation area and upper level passenger concourse bridge.
Improvements to the existing terminal facility will be limited to the first and second floors, with exception to the connection points between the existing terminal and the new embarkation building, all modifications are within the envelope of the existing building. The new embarkation building will include the addition of a new vertical core, 16,000 square feet of new passenger screening area, bathrooms, offices and utility rooms on the ground floor, and approximately 17,000 square feet of passenger check-in, ticketing, offices, bathrooms and utility rooms on the second floor. Construction will also include lengthening the existing passenger concourse bridge.
