Bermello, Ajamil & Partners, Inc. was selected as Master Architect for Dubai Maritime City; the world’s first purpose built center for maritime business and commerce. Built on 230 hectares of reclaimed land, Dubai Maritime City composes two major developments; JADAF Dubai Shipyards, a 550,000 SM harbor supporting over 25 ship and yacht repair facilities; and the Commercial Precinct, a mixed-use urban environment including 37 high-rise towers designated for office, residential and/or commercial uses, a marina, hotels, retail areas, community spaces, and a maritime academy.
GFA for the city is planned at 3.2 million SM and supports a population of over 125,000. B&A is responsible for master planning, development of control regulations, full architectural design of the project’s first major development, and the central focus, maritime businesses.
